Join tavern historian Liz Garibay for a thirst-free history adventure through some of Chicago’s unique watering holes. Tours make approximately four stops and explore the history of each establishment and its neighborhood.

Participants receive drink specials at each location when possible. Beverages and food are not included in the ticket price.

Come plant yourself in the midst of Chicago’s best beer gardens! Dig into the past, veg out, and let us fertilize your mind on this trolley tour. Learn about the roots of the German biergarten tradition, and discover why Chicago is called the City in a Garden.

Cubs ‘n’ Pubs

Thursday, August 7, 7:00–10:00 p.m.

Hey! Hey! Holy Cow! Take me out to the pubs! Soak up summer with one of the city’s favorite pastimes—baseball. Wrigley Field turns 100, and we’re celebrating by taking a walking tour of Wrigleyville saloons.

Cost: $40, $30 members

The Village People

Sunday, August 10, 1:00–4:00 p.m.

Young man, there’s a place you can go and it’s called Roscoe Village! Located near the YMCA and right outside the reach of rowdy Wrigley, the neighborhood is known for its tree-lined streets and unique boutiques. Once home to the historic Riverview Park, this walking tour of Roscoe Village pubs will provide amusement for all.

Cost: $40, $30 members

Refund Policy:

Refunds for a tour will be given in the form of tour credit which can be applied to another tour. Credit will be given with a minimum of two weeks notice prior to the day of the tour. No exceptions.
