Walking ToursGet to know the city’s historic neighborhoods, from the opulent mansions of the Gold Coast to the vibrant past of Old Town. Tours are held on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, and meet in front of the Museum.

The Glitzy Gold Coast

Whisk away to a time when Chicago’s rich and famous caroused on the coast. Wander through the neighborhood and learn about our city’s early history, its founders, public art and architecture.

The Old Town Trek

From Germans to hippies to yuppies, Old Town has seen an assortment of residents come and go. On this unique walking tour of Old Town, learn about the neighborhood’s colored past as well as its vibrant present.

Graceland CemeteryCemetery Tours

Bohemian National Cemetery

Sunday, September 19; 1:00–3:00 p.m.

Spanning 126 acres, Bohemian National Cemetery contains one of the city’s finest collections of funerary art and was founded as a last resting place for persons of Czech (Bohemian, Moravian, and Slovakian) descent. Cemetery expert Al Walavich guides you through the “Garden of the Dead,” a true Chicago landmark.

Graceland Cemetery

Sunday, October 24; Saturday, October 30; Sunday, October 31; 10:00 a.m.– noon and 1:00–3:00 p.m. each day

Ghosts and ghouls beware! Experience the history of Old Chicago as you venture through one of the country’s most famous cemeteries (pictured). Celebrate Halloween as Al Walavich takes you on a tour through the graves of Graceland, including famous Chicagoans Marshall Field, Louis Sullivan, Potter and Bertha Palmer, and George Pullman.

Refund Policy:
Refunds for a tour will be given in the form of tour credit which can be applied to another tour. Credit will be given with a minimum of two weeks notice prior to the day of the tour. No exceptions.
